I have a little teapot like this one EXCEPT it is larger. I love it because I can put the kettle on and steep my tea into this teapot then take it with me to my computer desk with a teacup and saucer and enjoy hot tea for a couple hours, without having to get up to go to the kettle. It is WONDERFUL. This past Christmas I gave teacups and saucers and teas with this little teapot to two of my best friends. They loved the gift.
I was not entirely satisfied though because I was hoping it was more the size of my teapot. My teapot holds about 4 cups of tea; this teapot is much smaller; AND I got my teapot from Cost Plus Market in Phoenix for $9.99 on sale. I paid much more for these smaller pots. But OVERALL I was very excited to find the same pot online as it is a cast-iron pot lined with ceramic. A PERFECT WAY TO KEEP WATER HOT. And we are all switching from wine drinking to tea drinking.

In the package, when this item came I had no idea what it was, I was expecting a proper kettle!!! Then I went back to the website and looked at the dimensions. 5x5x3!!! Ok got it now, this is only a little bigger than a doll's house item, so not sure about the function apart from a topic of conversation. Very cute looking though.

I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law. She visited and saw mine (which is way larger) and loved it. I was disappointed by the size when I received it, however that was my fault for not paying better attention to the description. I was on a 2-month quest to find her one that wasn't too pricey since I had to ship it out of the ocuntry, and this one was about half the price (I know now that was because it is half the size!) The upside is that my father-in-law won't drink tea, so the one-cup size is just fine for her. The teapot has a strainer basket which drops down into the kettle and removes fairly easily, which is a nice feature. I thought they all came this way, but was surprised to find many out there were not made with the basket. Also, since it is cast iron, it does a great job keeping the tea hotter longer than a stainless steel or ceramic kettle. The only real down side, other than the small size, is that you must watch the kettle as it heats because it will boil over. There is no whistle or spill-proof spout like the more modern kettles have and it heats quickly because it is so small. For the price, this kettle is OK, but I would recommend first looking around to see if you can find one less expensive. They were so plentiful a few years ago, and at more reasonable prices (relative to the size).
